Burlington County is the biggest county in New Jersey by land, and the three townships where we do most of our work there, Moorestown, Mount Laurel, and Evesham (Marlton), each run their own rulebook. Moorestown picks up bulk trash every week; Mount Laurel takes two items a week; Evesham picks up bulk only four times a year. Moorestown needs two inspections to close a sale, Mount Laurel one, and Evesham skips the township CO but sends the fire district. This page is the map. Each town below has its own page with the full rules, and the table gives you the version you can read in a minute.

Where We Move in Burlington County

These are the Burlington County towns we have written full guides for, each with the township rules on trash, parking, and inspections:

  • Marlton (Evesham Township): Kings Grant and the lake communities, Route 73 traffic, quarterly bulk pickup, and the Evesham Fire-Rescue inspection required before every sale.
  • Moorestown: big houses with big basements, the Main Street historic district, weekly bulk pickup, and two inspections (Public Works and Fire Prevention) before closing.
  • Mount Laurel: townhome and HOA parking, Route 73 and I-295, a two-item furniture limit, and a CCO fee that climbs the closer you get to closing.

We also move families and businesses in Bordentown, Burlington, Cinnaminson, Delanco, Delran, Eastampton, Edgewater Park, Florence, Hainesport, Lumberton, Maple Shade, Medford, Medford Lakes, Mount Holly, Palmyra, Pemberton, Riverside, Riverton, Shamong, Southampton, Tabernacle, Westampton, Willingboro, and the rest of the county. If it is in Burlington County, we serve it.

Burlington County Move-Out Rules at a Glance

Every township sets its own rules, and they are the things that catch people the week of the move. Details, phone numbers, and sources are on each town page.

TownBulk trashSelling your home
Marlton (Evesham)Quarterly only: January, April, July, October, by zone; no appliances, electronics, carpet, or construction debris; paid special pickup is not for move-outsNo township CO; Evesham Fire-Rescue inspection required, $50 if booked 11+ business days before closing, up to $125 last-minute
MoorestownEvery week on your trash day; appliances and metal by scheduled pickup; Saturday drop-off at Public WorksTwo: Public Works CCO ($30, sewer, water meter, sidewalks) and Fire Prevention smoke/CO certificate
Mount Laurel2 furniture items per week; mattresses wrapped; appliances Wednesdays by call; big clean-outs need a dumpster with a Zoning permitCCO required: $75 if requested 11+ days out, $100 at 4 to 10 days, more after that

The county-level piece: Burlington County handles household hazardous waste through its Resource Recovery Complex (609-499-5317), which is where paint, chemicals, and the things no township will take have to go. For everything else that is bigger than the township will collect, we can carry it to the curb or a dumpster at our hourly rate, or take it to the landfill and add the disposal fee the landfill charges by weight.

Burlington County Roads and Getting to Philadelphia

Route 38, Route 73, Route 70, I-295, and the New Jersey Turnpike carry almost every Burlington County move. The Route 70 corridor project from Cherry Hill to Cooper Avenue in Evesham has meant lane closures for years, with work expected to wrap up by the end of 2026, and Route 73 through Marlton and Mount Laurel backs up on weekday evenings and Saturday afternoons. We build the traffic into our arrival time. Any move between Philadelphia and Burlington County crosses a state line, which makes it an interstate move under federal rules, and the mover needs a USDOT number and FMCSA operating authority. Aron Movers holds both (USDOT 757960, MC 568794) along with our New Jersey license.

Burlington County Moving FAQs

Which Burlington County town has the strictest bulk trash rules?

Evesham (Marlton). Free bulk pickup happens only four times a year, in January, April, July, and October, and the township says plainly that its paid special pickup is not for move-outs or clean-outs. Moorestown is the opposite, with bulk items collected every week on your regular trash day. Mount Laurel is in between at two items a week.

Do I need a certificate of occupancy to sell a house in Burlington County?

Moorestown and Mount Laurel require a Continued Certificate of Occupancy from the township, and Moorestown adds a separate smoke and CO certificate from Fire Prevention. Evesham does not do a township CO on resale but requires an Evesham Fire-Rescue inspection before closing. All three charge more the closer to closing you apply, so book early.

Can you move me from Philadelphia to Moorestown, Mount Laurel, or Marlton?

Yes. Because it crosses a state line it is an interstate move, and we hold the USDOT number (757960) and FMCSA operating authority (MC 568794) that requires, along with our New Jersey license.

What does Aron Movers charge for junk removal during a move in Burlington County?

Carrying unwanted furniture and junk to the curb or a dumpster is billed at our hourly rate as part of the move. If it has to go to the landfill, we add the disposal fee the landfill charges by weight. We tell you which it will be before move day.

How much do movers in Burlington County cost?

Local moves are billed by the hour, so the cost depends on crew size, how much you are moving, and access at both homes. Burlington County has more large homes with finished basements than anywhere else we work, which is why we recommend an in-home or video walkthrough. New Jersey requires movers to give you a written estimate at least 24 hours before the move. See our South Jersey moving costs guide for typical ranges, or call (856) 854-1993 for a free quote.
