Camden County is where we live and where most of our trucks go every day. It is also the county where the moving rules change the most from one town line to the next: Haddonfield picks up two bulk items a month and Cherry Hill picks them up every week; Collingswood tickets for overnight street parking and Voorhees has HOA gates instead of street parking; two boroughs need two separate certificates to close on a house and one township needs a Continued Certificate of Occupancy plus a move-out pickup. This page is the map. Each town below has its own page with the full rules, and the table gives you the version you can read in a minute.

Where We Move in Camden County

These are the Camden County towns we have written full guides for, each with the township or borough rules on trash, parking, and inspections:

  • Cherry Hill: the covered bridge in Barclay Farm, Route 70 construction, elevator buildings on Route 38, and the township’s one-time move-out pickup.
  • Collingswood: twins and row homes from before 1939, a 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. street parking ban, and two certificates from the fire bureau before closing.
  • Haddonfield: the historic district’s narrow staircases, a 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. parking ban, bulk trash only the second full week of the month, and a police permit for any dumpster on the street.
  • Voorhees: townhomes and gated 55+ communities, a resale certificate from the Zoning Department with a fee tied to how early you apply, and a Town Center redevelopment on the way.
  • Oaklyn: our home borough, and the story of how Aron Movers got here.

We also move families and businesses in Audubon, Barrington, Bellmawr, Berlin, Brooklawn, Camden, Cherry Hill, Chesilhurst, Clementon, Gibbsboro, Gloucester City, Gloucester Township, Haddon Heights, Haddon Township, Hi-Nella, Laurel Springs, Lawnside, Lindenwold, Magnolia, Merchantville, Mount Ephraim, Pennsauken, Pine Hill, Runnemede, Somerdale, Stratford, Waterford, Winslow, and Woodlynne. If it is in Camden County, we serve it.

Camden County Move-Out Rules at a Glance

Every town below sets its own rules, and they are the things that catch people the week of the move. Details, phone numbers, and sources are on each town page.

TownBulk trashSelling your home
Cherry HillRegular trash day; appliances Wednesdays by call; one-time move-out pickup when a house is soldContinued Certificate of Occupancy (CCO) through the township
Collingswood2 items per week; mattresses wrapped; appliances and electronics to recyclers, not the curbResale CO (sidewalks and curb) plus smoke/CO/extinguisher certificate, both from the Fire Prevention Bureau
Haddonfield2 items per month, second full week only, 50 lb and 7 ft max; one-time move-out pickup for sellersCheck with the borough; dumpsters on the street need a police permit
VoorheesOnce a month, third full week, on your trash day; no electronics or construction debrisResidential Resale Certificate from Zoning: $75 standard, up to $200 same-day, 10-year sealed smoke detectors, unpermitted work blocks it
OaklynHousehold bulk items on your trash day, two-person carry limit; fridge doors offResale certificate of compliance plus exterior inspection through Borough Hall

The county-level piece that never changes: the Pennsauken Sanitary Landfill charges by weight, so when a clean-out is bigger than the borough will take, the disposal fee on a landfill run depends on what the load weighs. We can carry unwanted items to the curb or a dumpster at our hourly rate, or take them to the landfill and add the weight-based fee. Whoever you hire, ask how they bill junk removal before move day, not after.

Camden County Roads, Bridges, and PATCO

Camden County is the closest South Jersey county to Philadelphia, and a lot of our moves cross the river. The Ben Franklin and Walt Whitman bridges are the main routes, PATCO runs from Lindenwold through Voorhees, Haddonfield, Westmont, and Collingswood into Center City, and Route 70, Route 38, Route 73, Route 130, and I-295 tie the county together. Any move between Philadelphia and Camden County crosses a state line, which makes it an interstate move under federal rules, and the mover needs a USDOT number and FMCSA operating authority. Aron Movers holds both (USDOT 757960, MC 568794) along with our New Jersey license.

One height rule our crews follow everywhere in the county: if a bridge or overpass is under 13 feet, the truck doesn’t go near it. The Scarborough Covered Bridge in Cherry Hill is the famous one, and we route around it on every Barclay Farm move.

Camden County Moving FAQs

Which Camden County towns have the strictest move-out rules?

Haddonfield and Collingswood. Haddonfield takes only two bulk items a month during the second full week and requires a police permit for a dumpster on the street. Collingswood takes two bulk items a week and requires two separate certificates from its Fire Prevention Bureau before a sale. Cherry Hill is the most forgiving, with bulk trash on your regular day and a one-time move-out pickup for sellers.

Do I need a certificate of occupancy to sell a house in Camden County?

It depends on the town, which is why we wrote a page for each one. Cherry Hill requires a Continued Certificate of Occupancy, Voorhees a Residential Resale Certificate from Zoning, Collingswood a resale CO plus a smoke and CO certificate, and Oaklyn a resale certificate of compliance plus an exterior inspection. Every one of them takes longer than sellers expect, so apply as soon as you have a closing date.

Can you move me from Philadelphia to Camden County?

Yes. It is our most common cross-river move. Because it crosses a state line it is an interstate move, and we hold the USDOT number (757960) and FMCSA operating authority (MC 568794) that requires, along with our New Jersey license.

What does Aron Movers charge for junk removal during a move in Camden County?

Carrying unwanted furniture and junk to the curb or a dumpster is billed at our hourly rate as part of the move. If it has to go to the landfill, we add the disposal fee the Pennsauken landfill charges by weight. We tell you which it will be before move day.

How much do movers in Camden County cost?

Local moves are billed by the hour, so the cost depends on crew size, how much you are moving, and access at both homes: stairs, elevators, and how close the truck can park. New Jersey requires movers to give you a written estimate at least 24 hours before the move. See our South Jersey moving costs guide for typical ranges, or call (856) 854-1993 for a free quote.
