Quick Answer: Aron Movers has been moving South Jersey seniors and their families since 1958. Our senior moving services in South Jersey cover downsizing moves out of long-time family homes, moves into 55+ and senior communities, and in-home furniture moves for people who are staying put. We are family-owned, licensed, and our crews work for us directly. Free in-home or video estimates: call 856-854-1993.
Most of the senior moves we do start in a house someone has lived in for 30 or 40 years. The moving itself is the part we handle every day. The harder part is everything around it: deciding what comes along, what goes to family, and what goes somewhere else, often with a settlement date and a building move-in window that do not line up.
These moves take patience, and we plan for that. We do not rush the day, and we will not rush you.
We can come to the house, or you or a family member can walk us through it on a video call. Either way, we go room by room and talk through what is moving, what is staying, and where everything is going. That is how we size the crew and plan the day.
Book 3 to 4 weeks ahead if you can. If the move is into a senior community, check that building’s move rules before you pick a date. More on that below.
A lot of what comes out of a long-time family home is fragile and hard to replace: the good china, framed family portraits, glass figurines, collections built up over a lifetime. Our crews can pack all of it, or just the rooms and pieces you would rather not handle yourself. See our packing services for details.
Downsizing almost always means some of the furniture is not going to the new place. We can take care of that on move day.
We also work with local realtors, so if the house is going on the market and you need a recommendation, just ask.
Senior communities and 55+ buildings have their own move rules, and they are usually stricter than a standard apartment building.
Call the management office for their move policy before you settle on a date, then tell us what they allow and we will build the crew around it. Our apartment and condo moving page covers elevator reservations and truck access in more detail.
Not every senior move means leaving home. Sometimes the stairs become the problem and the bedroom needs to come downstairs. We call these shifts: moving furniture from one room or floor to another inside the same home. We take apart what needs to come apart, carry it, and set it back up where you want it. Our in-home furniture moving page covers how shifts work.
Settlement on the house and move-in at the new place do not always fall on the same day. Ask us about an overnight hold, which is built for back-to-back moves and early settlements.
Our crews are employed directly by Aron Movers. No day labor, and we are not a broker handing your move to someone else. We are licensed in New Jersey (NJ Lic. #39PM00033600) and for interstate moves (USDOT 757960, MC 568794), so a move out of state to be closer to family is covered too. You can verify our license, or any mover’s, through the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs license search.
We handle senior and downsizing moves across Camden County, Burlington County, and Gloucester County, including Haddonfield, Collingswood, Moorestown, Voorhees, Cherry Hill, Mount Laurel, Marlton, Deptford, and Washington Township.
Aron Movers is a third-generation, family-owned company based in Oaklyn, NJ, and has been moving South Jersey families since 1958.
Both. Along with the move, we can make a second stop at a family member’s house, drop items at a donation center, and haul away what is left. For antiques, clothing, and other valuable items, we can point you to estate sale companies we work with.
Yes. Pieces going to family can ride on the same truck, with a second stop on the way to the new place. Let us know about the extra stop when we do the estimate so we can plan the day around it.
Yes. Anything we take apart to move, like bed frames, we put back together at the new place and set where you want it.
Yes. We call these shifts. A common one is moving a bedroom downstairs so someone no longer has to use the stairs. We take apart what needs to come apart, move it, and set it back up.
Most likely. Many senior and 55+ buildings do not allow weekend moves, block midday hours, and require an elevator reservation and a Certificate of Insurance from your mover. Check with management first, then tell us what they allow.
Three to four weeks is a good rule. If the move is into a senior community with limited move days, call earlier, since the workable dates in a given week can be few.
Local moves are billed by the hour, so the cost depends on how much is moving, crew size, extra stops, and access at both places, such as stairs and elevators. A free estimate is the best way to get a real number. Our South Jersey moving cost guide explains what drives the price.
Call 856-854-1993 or request a quote online. Tell us where you are moving from and to, and whether there are any extra stops, and we will take it from there.
